It was an upset for Bendel Insurance FC today at the UNEC Stadium in Enugu as the Benin Arsenal narrowly surrendered all points to bottom placed Adoration FC after a 1-0 loss.
Koma Million’s 20th minute strike was the only goal of the match that gave the home team the maximum three points to move up on the log.
The Benin Arsenal laboured in their search for equalizer with Stephen Adodo and Meyiwa Oritseweyinmi coming close to breaking the deadlock before the end of first half but all their surge met the brick walls posed by the determined and confident defence of the hosts.
It was expected that the Insurers could up their game to get equaliser and possibly win in the second half following three quick substitutions which saw the addition of Towo Eventus, Bayo Odumosun,Ifeanyi Iheme but their inclusions could not give the desired bite to give coach Monday Odigie led side the expected result.
The defeat at Adoration FC is the second for the Benin Arsenal in the current season,after Gateway Utd loss.
Insurance remain second on the group B1 log with 21 points ,a point behind Gateway Utd who are guests to Ekiti Utd on Easter Sunday .
The Benin Arsenal will be embarking on midseason break with the sour taste of defeat at the hands of struggling Adoration FC in a fixture most bookmakers predicted to be in Insurance favour.
