Ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League match-day twenty clash between Nasarawa United versus visiting Shooting Stars of Ibadan on Sunday, Club’s Chairman, Chief Barr. Isaac Danladi, has told the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, that his presence at the match will be a huge moral booster to the Solid Miners.
He revealed this when the Commissioner paid a scheduled visit to the team at their hotel accommodation in Jos, the Plateau State Capital, on Saturday.
“This is the first match we will be playing in our new found home since the beginning of this season as our stadium is undergoing renovation.
“You were with us in Ibadan during our last away game. We are privileged to have you in our midst again, Honourable Commissioner.
“We are happy to inform you that we have strengthened the team ahead of the second stanza, and gradually, there will be a huge transformation.
“We want to appreciate you most sincerely for finding time out of your busy schedules to come over to lend your support to the team.
“No encouragement supersedes this.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. I can assure you that that never-die-spirit of Nasarawa United is back, as we are used to doing well in the second round of the league, and this won’t be an exception.
“Success isn’t achieved by not falling down, but getting up each time you fall.
“At the end of the day, I want to assure you that Nasarawa United will bounce back.
“I want to also use this medium to send our warmest appreciation to the Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Agbadu Akabe, and every stakeholder for the support they have been giving us.
“Honourable Commissioner, as you came to show solidarity with us, God will continue to reward you accordingly.”
Speaking earlier, the Commissioner, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, said he was on ground to cheer the team to victory and pass across the message of solidarity of the good people of Nasarawa State ahead of the match.
“I was in Ibadan during your last game against Shooting Stars, and I must say you played very well, just that luck eluded you.
“On Sunday, we are optimistic of your victory against the same opponents going by the spirit I am seeing in you today.
“Follow the instructions of your coaches and management, knowing full well that we are a team determined for success, and success comes with discipline.
“It’s the prayer of the State to see you play in the Continent, and this means giving you the necessary supports, including improving on your welfare while you play your own role as well.
“For the mean time you will be here in Jos, ensure you utilize it well. But I am here to assure you that you would soon return to your original home ground as works on the playing turf would soon be completed.”
The Nasarawa United versus Shooting Stars match is slated for Sunday, 3rd April, 2022, at the New Jos International Stadium, Plateau State, the temporary home ground of the Solid Miners, by 4pm.
