New records have been set in men’s javelin and hammer at the National Sports Festival, as field events at Abuja National Stadium hit a climax.
Sports247.ng reports that the new javelin mark was set by Samuel Kure of Delta State, while Chukwuebuka Connel set a fresh record distance throw for the hammer.
Kure record a new festival mark in the javelin men final with a throw of 70:24 meters to win the gold medal.
Behind Kure was Arinze Chude of Anambra State, who won silver with 67:72m, while Kenechukwu Chijoke Edeefor of Rivers State placed third with 66:16m.
In the hammer throw, Connel reached 65:22 metres to win gold, while Ibrahim Baba of Rivers State got silver with 51:72m and Enahoro Dauda from Oyo State placed third with 44:72m.
