Kakawa Sports Investments Limited in conjunction with Eko Football Foundation has announced a new scouting tournament project that will see Brazilian-born German striker, Jeronimo Barretto Claudimir (Cacau) visit Nigeria.
Cacau, 40 years, was capped 23 times by Germany, scored 6 goals for the country, featured in the 2010 World Cup, and had stints with FC Nürnberg, VFB Stuttgart amongst others in his professional career which started in 1997 with Nacional (SP), will be the chief scout for the event that will see eight teams converge at the Remo Starts Stadium for the scouting tournament to select players who are fit for further professional contracts in Europe, particularly Germany.
“The purpose of this tournament is to help further unravel talents due for professional contracts abroad, specifically in Germany. It’s part of our commitment to ensure grassroots development is given the proper attention that it needs,” Chief Operating Officer Kakawa Sports Investment Limited, Mr. Augustine Ogee told Sports247.
The event which is set to hold between the 15th-19th of March 2022 at the Remo Stars Stadium will have Youth Stars FC, Box2Box FC, Beyond Limits, Emmydinho FC, Collins Edwin FC, FC Bethel, The Charlesann FC, and Haas Sports Academy participating in the 8-club tournament.
