The finals of the Kwara state Milo secondary school basketball championship was concluded over the weekend at the outdoor court of the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
St. Anthony Secondary School, stretched their dominance to win both the Male and Female finals after outscoring University of Ilorin Secondary School in both finals.
In the Boys category, nine points separated the two schools with St. Anthony Secondary School winning 34 – 25 against Unilorin Secondary School while the Girls category result ended 13-12.
Eight schools participated at this year’s edition with the winners to represent the state at the national championship slated for a later date.
Unilorin Secondary School won the championship in 2019 but following the outbreak of Covid-19, the championship was on hold between 2020 – 2021.
Dignitaries present at the finals were Director school services Mr Oyunranti A.J, representative of Executive Chairman Kwara State Sports Commission and a member of the Sports Commission Board, Mr Bakare A.S. Chairman Kwara State Basketball Veterans Club, Mr Rasheed Bello and members of Kwara State Basketball Veterans.
Acting Chairman Of Kwara State Basketball Association, Mr Aliyu JIbril, Coaches of University of Ilorin and Kwara State University were also among dignitaries present to witness the finals as well as scouts.
