Remo Stars FC striker Andy Okpe has admitted he feels ‘happy’ to have scored a brace against Sunshine Stars FC in the NPFL on Sunday.
The forward came off the bench in the second half to fire Remo Stars to a 3-0 victory over their Southwestern neighbors, a result which took the Sky Blue Stars to third position on the league table. Seun Ogunribide opened the scoring in the 40th minute.
“I felt ill before the game. I informed the coach that I did not want to play the game but he encouraged me, he told me it’s better that I start from the subs,” Andy revealed after the encounter.
“I feel very happy and excited to have helped the team with two goals. We needed the win very much. We have what it takes to not lose any of our remaining games at home. We are looking forward to our next game against Niger Tornadoes.
Andy has scored 7 goals from 16 matches this season. The center-forward will be looking to add to his tally when Remo Stars visit 18th-placed Tornadoes next Sunday.
