Remo Stars of Ikenne media officer, Oladimeji Oshode has explained that the club decided to withdraw from the Nigerian National League (NNL) Super-8 competition because the organisers made a vole face on previous agreements with the clubs.
Oshode stated in an interview with sports247.ng that Remo Stars cannot be part of a system in which the organisers renege of agreements.
As the impasse now lingers over the number of teams to gain promotion to the top-flight Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Oshode stressed that Remo Stars’ decision to withdraw from the competition set for scheduled to start on Friday is based on trustworthy principles.
Oshode added in a chat with sports247.ng: “The withdrawal was based on the decision of the NNL reneging from an initial agreement that had guaranteed promotion of eight teams to the premier division.”
