The president of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho has lauded the executive leadership of the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB) for appointing five Nigerians into different commissions.
CAHB had, in the past weeks, appointed top handball technocrats from Nigeria, into its important commissions which, according to the continent’s handball governing body, will aid the continued growth of the sport in Africa.
The Nigerians are HFN executive member Dr. Esther Oluwatoyin Aluko, who was appointed as a member of CAHB’s Commission of Coaching and Methods, Barrister Emmanuel Ehimare Akihgbe who was appointed as a member of the Arbitral Tribunal of CAHB, Mr. Saidu Ojih Jibril also an HFN executive member, who was appointed as a member of CAHB Arbitration Commission, Mr. Christopher Olufojude, who was appointed as a member of the organization Committee for beach handball and erstwhile technical director of HFN Coach Ferdinand Emeana, who was appointed as a member of CAHB’s Development Commission.
Their mandate is between the years 2021 to 2025.
Ocheho, who was elated, praised CAHB for recognizing and appointing the Nigerians as they are the best in their different endeavors and has afforded the country to take its rightful place in the game of handball in Africa.
He also ascribed the appointments as a vote of confidence of the Handball Federation of Nigeria and a recognition of what the board is doing
“I am very excited that CAHB deemed it fit to select five Nigerians into its different committees,” Ocheho said.
“The excitement for me is that we are finally getting involved and taking our rightful place in the game of handball in Africa.
I want to thank CAHB for recognizing and appointing our stakeholders into their commission as they are the best in their endeavors.
The appointment also validates the good work we are doing in HFN to develop the handball in Nigeria.
