It was looking like no joy for Dannaz FC in terms of picking a win in the TCC Cup group stage until the last group game 3-1 win over Valiant Fc, a result which Favourene last seasons finalist, Beyond Limits FC.
Dannaz raced into a two-goal lead in the first half into the break courtesy of a brace by a man of the match Joshua Obakimi who appreciated his teammates, coaches, and management for the support towards the players before adding another one in the second half from Savio Idezi. Valiant however got a late consolation goal in stoppage time from hot man Ifeoluwa Agboola.
“I feel so great and thankful to my coach and management for giving us the courage to come out to play because many of the players were already down from the performance of our previous games but they encouraged us,” Joshua told Sports247.
Picking a win also excited the goalscorer as it was the first for the team in the last group game. “I feel encouraged that we can do more if we listen to our coach and management and refuse to let the performances of our previous games weigh us down,” Joshua explained.
