Coach of MFM, Lekan Gabriel has expressed confidence that his boys have what it takes to reach this year Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.
Gabriel disclosed this after his team walkover Collins Edwin FC in the Round of 32 of Lagos FA Cup at Alade Sports Centre, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.
Gabriel said they are in the competition for business boasting that he is not afraid of any team that come their way in the next match.
He admitted that all the clubs are in the round of 32 are good teams but remained confident that a premier Lagos based club would go all the way to reach the final and win the tournament.
“It has been long we have won the FA Cup and the time has come to win it again. I am saying this because I have experienced players who can deliver the job and I believe that with God on our side, we shall achieve our aim,” he said.
Gabriel said this year’s FA Cup is competitive and commended the organisers for good officiating and standard of the competition.
In a related development, Ighalo Academy defeated Vining FC 2-0 to progress to the next stage. Ighalo coach, Ambrose Duru said the game was tough but thanked goodness for reaching the next stage of the competition.
“We fought better in the second half to seal the game in the second half and I am happy that we progressed to the next stage of the tournament. I am using this medium to dedicate the victor to God and fans who are always behind us,” he said.
In other results, Gbagada FC defeated Iganmu FC 1-0, Messiah humbled BYT 2-0, Maryland FC suffered 0-4 to Box 2 Box FC, while Dannaz Pip Odic 2-1.
