A late equalizer was the saving grace for Dannaz FC, helping to salvage a point from an almost lost first game against Emmydinho FC in the 2021/22 edition of The Creative Championship Cup.
After a deadlocked first half, Emmydinho FC went ahead in the 51st minute courtesy of a goal from Brain Carlos but a fightback from Dannaz FC was rewarded in the 88th minute as Amodu Musa found the back of the net.
“It was a good game coming from the bad runs we have in the previous games before this. It’s very good for the mentality of the players,” coach of Dannaz FC, Fatai Akande told Sports247.
Speaking on his chances of getting out of the group, the coach was quick to assert his assurance of getting out.
“Of course, definitely, we’ve got a big chance (to qualify). We’re in a very good run in a league we play in Lagos, the lads have been playing well but when you’re up there everyone wants to beat you and it’s been affecting them. Now they’ve got a draw from a very difficult game which will help their mentality,” Fatai concluded.
