FC Robo Queens chairman Emmanuel Osahon has discussed his passion for women’s football. Osahon who doubles as the team’s head coach says women’s football is something part of him already and that he will do anything he can to support women.
In a chat with Sports247, Osahon said: “Women’s football is something part of me already. I love to see women doing good things. FC Robo is not only for girls, we have male and female teams but I chose this department because I have a passion for women. I don’t want them to be a waste, I will do anything I can to support them.”
FC Robo Queens has earned a reputation for producing talented players at all levels for the Nigerian Women’s national teams, some of who have gone on to achieve great things in their careers.
FC Barcelona Femení forward and four-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala is a graduate of the club’s youth setup. Super Falcons stars, Esther Sunday, Rasheedat Ajibade and Aminat Yakubu are also products of Robo’s academy program. Osahon hopes to achieve more with his team.
“By His grace, we are thinking of doing more. The highest goal scorer of the previous NWPL season is in my team. That’s the person of Monday Gift and there are other good strikers in the team.
“I have about three or four players in the U20 right now and they are regulars. I still have some of them here who will play U17, some who will play for the Super Falcons who are already invited. The sky is the limit. I give God the glory.”
