Lobi Stars of Makurdi defender, Ebube Duru has declared that the club are already preparing very well for their first round match in the CAF Champions League, against Gor Mahia of Kenya.
The Middle Belt side are set to play away to the former African Cup winners in the first leg of their fixture, but Duru told sports247.ng that Lobi Stars will be well prepared to scale the hurdle.
Duru added that he and his teammates have a drive to do well because they are aware that critics have labelled them half baked champions, as they were handed the title after the NPFL season ended abruptly.
Duru said: “We are fully aware of what people are saying about us and we know that we need to now convince them about our ability.
“That is one thing that is pushing us to ensure we achieve a very good representation; not just as champion of the league but in playing to earn respect for Nigerian clubs on the continent.”
