Gil Gomes, former Portugal player and CEO of GG10 management who has been in Nigeria a couple of days for his first official visit for a scouting tournament has praised the high quality of talents on display despite the conditions.
Gomes who is one of the scouts for the GG10 scouting tournament told Sports247 the lads are most likely going to do well in Europe from the performance he has seen.
“It’s been a good experience so far that I like. We have seen good players here and we’ll work with the partners to find a solution,” he said. “From the conditions of the pitch we can see they have a good technique, if they can play in these conditions it means if they go to Europe they can do better,” Gomes added.
The former Benfica player also claimed satisfaction from what he’s seen, hoping to visit more often while also declaring we’ll maybe see the next Jay-Jay Okocha from these lads.
“Of course, the plan is to come once a year to see Nigeria’s talent and my company based in Portugal works with young talents in Africa and other places to bring out the best talents to Europe,” he said. “From what I’ve seen we’ll see the next Jay-Jay Okocha,” he concluded.
