Nigerian US-based football coach, Anthony Ushurhe has wished his former club, Messiah Football Club all the best in the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.
The annual competition kicked off last weekend and Messiah FC would begin their campaign in the second round of the competition.
Ushurhe in a statement sent to our correspondent this morning said a Lagos-based amateur club is well known in Lagos and they have can go all way to the final if the players play to coach instructions and give their best to the club.
“I am optimistic that Messiah FC would do well in Lagos FA Cup. The club has a football pedigree as far as clubs are concerned in Lagos. I took Messiah to the quarter-final stage in 2015 before First Bank defeated us through penalties and since then the club has been doing well in various competitions.
“Having seen the Messiah FC recently in some friendly matches and the caliber of players recruited in the club, I am sure that the club would perform creditably well in FA Cup. I wish them all the best in their outings,” said Ushurhe who is currently in the US for the coaching course.
