Meet Mr. Umar Sahabi Liman, NSSF Sponsor & Philanthropist

Mr. Umar Liman is one of the Members of the recently elected Board of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation, NSSF,

A resident of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria, Mr. Liman is happily married to two wives and four beautiful children.

He is an Estate Developer and CEO of Rock & Gold International Ltd., an Estate Development Company where he is a licensed Gold trader and exporter as well as an expert and professional Gold Bullion Merchant; a Certified Management Consultant, CMC, and a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, FIMC. Mr. Liman hails from Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State, North-Western Nigeria, where he holds the traditional title of Wakilin Doka of Kaura- Namoda(i.e. Custodian of the Laws).

Academically, the ever-young looking Umar has in his library, a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Business Administration; PGD in Financial Management; an HND in Quantity Surveying, and a Grade D Regional Coaching Certificate in Shooting Sport from the International Shooting Sport Federation ISSF.

Apart from attending various Project Management Courses in the United Kingdom, Mr. Liman is also an alumnus of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, CLTC, Presidency, Rock Land School, Kwatarkwashi.

A cosmopolitan, Mr. Umar Liman is a widely traveled personality, cutting across over sixteen countries including, U.S.A, U.K, China, Germany, France, Switzerland, Middle-East, South Africa, to list but a few.

He became a member of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation, NSSF, about a decade ago. Mr. Umar, who is equally a brilliant shooter, has been participating, sponsoring, and contributing to Shooting Sports activities and their development in Nigeria.

And due to his gestural and blossoming antecedents, the Zamfara State-born philanthropist was appointed as a Member and Patron into the immediate past Executive Board of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation.

Among some of the Shooting Sports activities, he has either supported, sponsored, or co-sponsored include; The Africa Youth Games held in Algiers, Algeria, in 2018; the Maiden Shooting Sports Clinic & Competition for Sports Journalists in Nigeria held in Abuja in 2018; Military & Para Military Shooting Sport Championship held in Abuja in 2021; Open Shooting Sport Championship held in Asaba, Delta State, in 2021.

Mr. Liman has equally contributed to the provision and procurement of Shooting Sports equipment at sundry levels, including giving financial assistance to support the Federation’s Secretariat’s day-to-day operations, coaches, and other officials of the Federation during championships.

He was conferred as Patron of the Nigeria Police Shooting Sports Association, NPSSA, during the First Edition of the Inspector General of Police Combat Shooting Championship held at the Nigeria Police Shooting Range, Karshi, Abuja.

In August and September this year, Mr. Umar Liman was issued two letters of ‘Appreciation’ by the Caretaker Committee of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation then headed by Major General Johnny Hamakim(Rtd) for his moral and financial contributions to the Federation over the years, and especially on the 2021 Military and Paramilitary Shooting Championship, and National Open Shooting Championship held in Asaba, Delta State, respectively.

A down-to-earth personality and one who is disposed to the development of society, Mr. Umar was appointed into the Board of the Nigeria Shooting Sport Federation as Sponsor and Philanthropist shortly after the Federation’s election on Thursday, 30th September 2021, at the Nigeria National Shooting Range, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

It is hoped that this new feather added to his hat will further spur him to do more for the sport that is gradually gaining ground across the nooks and crannies of the Nigerian society, and position the country among the best Shooting Sport nations in the world in the nearest future.
