American boxer, Deontay Wilder has accused Nigerian-born British three-belt world heavyweight champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua of dodging what could have been a mammoth unification fight between them.
Wilder stated ahead of his upcoming blockbuster bout with another British heavyweight, Tyson Fury, that Joshua has continued lying about why a deal cannot be reached between the two world champs, but insists it is only because ‘AJ’ is a coward.
The American pugilist, who holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) version of the global titles, insisted on live television that Joshua and his camp are playing evasive tactics.
Appearing alongside Fury to promote their December 1 fight, Wilder said Joshua should be ashamed of disappointing his fans, who he believes want to see the Brit step out against him.
Wilder, who believes Joshua’s team do not want the much-talked about unification fight, roared: “Hey, Joshua, me and Fury are about to get this thing going on, baby.
“We’re about to see who the biggest and the baddest in the world, one champion, one face, one name, something you were too much of a coward to do in your own country.
“You were a coward and you know this, your whole team know this. You said different things over and over. You manipulate, you’re compulsive liars.
“The audience put their hard-earned money into this, this is an emotional sport. Enough is enough. Joshua had a career plan and Deontay Wilder wasn’t in it from the start.”
