The annual scrabble players national tournament came up in Abuja September 11-12 2021 in Abuja badge A-arm. of the national stadium.
Players gathered from all over the country to participate in the top event.
Plateau state went with a 9 man contingent comprising of opens, intermediate, and masters category players
In the open category, Mr. Ayo S.Ola emerge 3rd in an epic 15 game encounter while Dan kakwi and Benjamin Isa finished among the top 10.
Joy Ola emerged as the best female player of the entire tournament
In the intermediate and Master’s category, Bitrus Nding, Magnus Oraka, and Coach Negro all gave a good account and placed in top positions.
The Plateau state scrabble Chairman Abbas Mohammed was pleased and promised to boost unity and foster a conducive playing and winning atmosphere for plateau state scrabble players. Further- he appealed to sponsors in both the private and government sectors to show more interest in sponsoring competitions and boosting discovery from the grassroots.
Significantly, this is plateau state’s best outing in any national scrabble competition.
