In the MD 6 of the 2021 Fusion Football Championship, Starbase FC secured a 2-1 win over GSC FC on Sunday to move to the 5th position in the league standings on 11 points.
A brace on either side of halftime from midfielder Ibrahim Agoro gave Starbase FC a 2-0 lead before Aminu Musa pulled one back for GSC FC in the 85th minute.
Two-goal, Ibrahim Agoro spoke with Sports247 after the match. He said:
“It wasn’t an easy game. The two teams played very well but we were the better team overall. I am happy we won. It is thanks to our management for doing the right things and also our coach and the fans who came to support us.
Quizzed on what inspires him to pursue a career in football, Agoro credits his parents for supporting him.
“I love playing football since my childhood. Thanks to my mum and dad, they encourage me to continue playing that one day I will make it. Some people told me to go and work. I told them no. I won’t give up on football. I will try my best to achieve my dreams. I just love this game.”
Agoro concluded by saying Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount is the player he most looks up to.
