The Nigerian newest FIFA-badged Referee, Yemisi Eunice Akintoye, and five other Nigerians Officials have landed in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire for the maiden edition of the CAF women Championship WAFU B qualifiers scheduled to commence Saturday, 24th July 2021.
The Lagos State Referees Council international Arbiter is one of the five Nigerians selected by CAF for different roles at the WAFU B qualifiers.
Other Nigerians Officials for action in Abidjan are Mfon Akpan (Assistant Referee), the HOD of Nigeria Women Football, Ruth David (Match Commissioner), a seasoned CAF Referee Assessor/Instructor, Felicia Okwugba (Technical Instructor), and one of the CAF best IT personnel, Promise Uwaeme (information technology).
Six Women teams across West Africa namely Rivers Angels (Nigeria) Association Sportive de la Police de Nimey (Niger Republic); Onze Sours de Gagnoa (Cote d’Ivoire); Hasaacas Ladies football Club (Ghana); Amis du Monde Football Club (Togo) and Union Sportive Forces Armees (Burkina Faso) will be participating in the tournament.
The winner of the tournament will represent the Zone at the maiden edition of the CAF Women Champion League scheduled to hold later in the year.
