In a game held at the Remo Stadium, Remo Stars FC U17 side thumped Christ Comprehensive school football team 6-2 on Friday.
Despite the 6-2 drubbing at the hands of the more experienced Remo side, the Kaduna-based Christ Comprehensive School football team gave a good account of themselves.
Sports247 caught up with Godwin Nelson, the head coach of Christ Comprehensive after the game.
“Christ Comprehensive is an academy school and scholarship is been offered to the children. I have been with this team for about 11 years now. I have been the head coach for like 16-17 years now.” he disclosed.
Commenting on the match, Nelson said: “It is something the children are happy for because this is the first time. They have been hearing about Remo Stars but this is the first time of coming to play against a good side like this Remo team. They will learn from this game.”
Nelson opened up on his highs coaching the Christ Comprehensive team for over a decade.
“I have been able to produce a couple of good players that have played abroad. I have one of them that has played with the Super Eagles, a left full-back named Kingsley Madu. And the other one is in Russia now, Harrison.” he said.
