Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) secretary-general, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has charged the beach soccer national team, Super Sand Eagles to overcome all odds and do well at the continental show in Cairo, Egypt.
Speaking to sports247.ng ahead of the Super Sand Eagles’ first match against defending champions, Senegal, on Saturday, Sanusi said the players should put behind them their shaky preparations.
Sanusi admitted that several issues prevented the team from starting camp early, but he urged the lads to put that aside and do everything they can to qualify for the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Sanusi declared: “We want them to show the true Nigerian spirit. They should try their very best, despite their short period of camping they had.
“So many other matter stopped them from starting preparations early, ahead of their trip to Egypt.
“However, we want the players to be good ambassadors of Nigeria, and I have enough confidence in their ability to do well in Egypt.”
