Learning Football Club’s dream of repeating the feat of 2005/2006 when they won the State Super League was shattered yesterday by Datyem United Football Club of Langtang North.
Learning FC, after been held to a goalless draw, bowed out via the lotteries of penalties as Datyem FC carried the day, winning 3-2 to make it to the semi-final.
In the other quarter-final match played yesterday at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Panriang Football club of Mangu, went goals crazy as they whitewashed Timmy Kwanto Football Club of Langtang North 5-1.
The quintet of Soja Nuhu, Mohammed Abdulahi, Ali Shamsudeen, Narbet Dasok, and Dalileng Donatus got the goals for Panriang fc, while Timjui Shindang got the consolation goal for Timmy Kwanto FC.
Deluxe Football Academy also made the last four after seeing off Shendam B United football club of Shendam 3-1.
The trio of Jacob Sambo, Ibrahim Saheed, and Safwan Ibrahim got the goals for Delux, while Nwatu Nzube got the consolatory goal for Shendam United.
The last quarter-final match between former champions, Jazzy Stars Football Academy, and Tudun Wada Football Academy will be completed by 8 am today as a heavy downpour prevented the second half from been played.
The second half will be played out this morning after the first half ended 0-0.
According to the organizing committee Chairman of this year’s Plateau State Super League, Ezra Godit, who also doubles as the Deputy Chairman of the PFA, “All the semi-final matches will be played today and the final will be played tomorrow.”
If the release from the PFA secretariat is anything to go by, Panriang FC will confront Datyem FC in the first semi-final, while Delux FA will battle it out with the winner of the match between Tudun Wada FA and Jazzy Stars FA by 4 pm today.
