The Bayelsa State Football Association, BSFA says it has concluded plans for Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens to represent the state in this year’s AITEO Cup competition.
This was contained in a statement sign by the secretary of the Bayelsa State Football Association Mr. Diseye Nwankwe shortly after an emergency meeting with the registered teams for the Aiteo Cup and the State football body.
According to Mr. Nwankwe, the move to select Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens to represent the state was to enable the State to meet the June 14th, 2021 deadline date given by the Nigeria Football Federation NFF.
Mr. Nwankwe noted that the decision was a consensus with teams in the State due to the short period of notice for the State Football Association to send their representative to the echelon body to conduct the National draws.
He explained that the participating teams complained of logistics and time frame for them to prepare their players for the competition.
The BSFA secretary thanked the teams for their corporation and understanding, assuring continuous transparency in its dealings.
