The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed receipt of the letter sent to them by the Nigeria Football Federation on the country’s representative, Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt, to the WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League in July.
The NWFL Secretariat and the Nigeria Football Federation are still waiting for the Confederation of African Football to make public the final modalities for the selection of the extra slot sets aside for WAFU B which states that, one extra slot will be given to a country whose national team won the last edition of the African Women Cup of Nations.
The AWCON title was won by the Super Falcons of Nigeria at Ghana 2018.
The WAFU B qualifiers for the CAF Women Champions League will be played in July in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, while the main championship, the CAF Women Champions League, will be played in Morocco in October 2021.
