KG Sports Academy defeated Ekuku Agbor United FC by a lone goal on Sunday afternoon in a Talent Hunt Football match organized by KG Sports Foundation.
Frank scored the lone goal in the 68th minute after Thompson Iyare’s darling run from the left flank beating 3 defenders before square passing the ball for Striker Frank to fire home his first goal for the Academy in his debut match.
The Match is the first of back-to-back matches both sides will play as the KG Sports Foundation scouts for players to join the Academy.
Newly appointed Patron of the Ekuku Agbor United FC, Engr Onyekachukwu Nwachokor was present and awarded cash of #5,000 to the Scorer.
Engr Onyeka Nwachokor, a UK Based Entrepreneur also pledged to award a Scholarship to 2 of the Ekuku Agbor United players to join the KG Sports Academy and will Sponsor them to a professional level.
“I was impressed to see how these boys from the village plays, I think they need proper nurturing and understanding to be able to get to professional level, I am happy to sponsor the best two players to reach their goal,” He told the players during the half time break.
Meanwhile, another Patron of Ekuku United FC Elder Uche Oseikpe also donated Football to the team and pledged to Continue to Sponsor the players to take part in major Tournaments.
KG Sports Academy will travel to Ekuku Agbor on Sunday 25th April for the return leg.
