Edo cricket teams on Tuesday distinguished themselves in the field of play to emerge overall champions on eve of the closing ceremony of the 20th National Sports Festival ‘Edo 2020’ games.
The female side of the Host state raked in three gold while their male counterparts won one gold, one silver, and one Bronze to amass four gold, one silver, and the Bronze to emerge overall champions.
In the female category of the game,
Team Akwa Ibom won 1 Silver and 2 Bronze.Team Ebonyi: 1 Silver.Team Lagos: 1 Silver andTeam Kaduna left with 1 Bronze.
Other results in the men category have Team Kaduna in the second spot with 1 Gold and 1 Silver. Team Lagos followed with 1 Gold and 2 Bronze while Team Kwara were rewarded with 1 Silver for participating.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Edo State Cricket Association and Vice President National Cricket Association Mr. UYI AKPATA has made EDO 2020 FESTIVAL memorable for Edo Cricketers as he officially commissioned the newly constructed changing Rooms at IYOBA COLLEGE. Akpata also organized a Medal presentation ceremony for the team at EDO BOYS HIGH SCHOOL, Benin City.
