Despite reports emanating across the media that team Oyo has been disqualified from the 20th National Sports Festival, the General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Mr. Gboyega Makinde has debunked such claims.
Widespread reports had it that the first batch of team Oyo that arrived in Edo on Friday were disqualified because they failed to provide their COVID-19 vaccination card and testing results.
According to Makinde, that was not true.
Oyo State have not been disqualified as they were only asked to follow the guidelines of Covid 19 to ensure they can be part of the prestigious tournament.
In line with this, Oyo State have fulfilled all the procedures and ensured that Team Oyo athletes pass through all the guidelines of covid 19, Hence, They will be part of the National Sports Festival.
