Kano Pillars attacker Nyima Nwangwa has stated that he could not link up with the rest of the players in the camp of Nigeria’s Beach soccer national team, The Sand Eagles because he is yet to get the nod to do so from the management of Nigeria Professional Football League outfit.
Nwagua was part of the 20 players called to camp by head coach of the Sand Eagles Adamu Audu Ejo in a list released by the Nigeria Football Federation over a week ago ahead of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations billed for December 8 – 14 in Egypt.
The championship is set to serve as qualifying tournament for the Beach Soccer World Cup to be played in Paraguay and Nigeria has been placed in group B of the championships to face 2016 champions Senegal, Libya and Tanzania while Group A will see Host Egypt slugging it out with Morocco, Ivory Coast and Madagascar.
In an exclusive chat with Sports247.ng Nwagua said he would simply be looking at what response will emanate from the management to know his fate as regards making the cut or not. With just three days to the Championship it is still unclear if the lanky forward will be granted permission.
