Still looking for their second win in the competition, Emmydinho FC played out an intense 2-2 draw with fellow TCC League side, Iganmu FC as both sides look to finish strong and avoid the drop from the Nationwide League One.
“We fought the battle to survive as we have been losing. So we had to put our minds, effort, and everything into this game so we don’t get relegated and that’s why we fought till the end in this game,” said Chinonso Michael, captain of Emmydinho FC of Lagos as he spoke to Sports247.
Both sides who are familiar with one another have met twice in The Creative Championship League earlier this year before the start of the Nationwide League One with the first game in match week eight ending in the same 2-2 scoreline before Emmydinho thumped the Iganmu Boys 4-1 in the return fixture.
The fate of both sides have been different as Iganmu sits pretty in mid-table and Emmydinho FC had moved up from relegation waters.
