Being the match-winner and scoring the only goal of the game can really be a morale booster for a player and Okparachi Abraham of Collin Edwin FC scored a goal that was really applauded by the fans in their 1-0 win over Messiah FC and he dedicated the goal to his family.
Speaking to Sports247 after the game the player said, ” I’m just happy and grateful for the win and also the goal. I’m dedicating the goal to my family, teammates, and fans as well.”
The goal which was taunted as one of the goals of the season by a fan really please the player and he described how it came about. “It was a gamble and I just decided to go for it. The ball then came into the box courtesy across from the striker and luckily I was in the right place and I just had to jab it in, and that’s how it went in.”
The player who is considered by some fans as having so much “swagger”, a Joker, and being the man to make the camp lively was quizzed about if he had plans to go into comedy. “Noooooooo, that’s not in my plans to become a comedian. But I’ve always been a stubborn guy right from my childhood and my mother confirmed it. She always tells me to be a better person when I grow up, so basically, that’s just how I am,” he said.
