The Nigeria National League, NNL is getting tougher by the day and gradually the boys are getting separated from the men. Joy Cometh’s talisman, Adewale Lasisi had earlier lamented the poor officiating of their match with Remo Stars but the gaffer has said that the loss was more than just poor officiating even though he thinks that contributed in no small measure. He claims that the one goal scored by Remo Stars which was responsible for the loss was a goal scored from a clear offside position.
However, Joy Cometh Coach, Kazeem Alabi has attributed the loss to his tactical approach to the game. An approach that was fruitful during the game until his opponent changed strategy.
“It was an interesting game and put in mind that we are playing against the table toppers. Both teams played robust football and I have also studied them tactically and I know they like playing in the middle. So I jam-packed my midfield. I didn’t give them room to keep possession. I had five men in the midfield, three men upfront to get them on the counter-attack but they changed their plans by using long balls.”
After the match, spectators unanimously agreed that Remo Stars faced very strong opposition in Joy Cometh as it was an interesting game. It was a 1:1 scoreline with Apex Kranes in their last match and are also up for a stiffer opposition in their next match with Ibom youths. They concluded that he prays they get a win to climb up the ladder.
