Toyin Gafaar Motivates Lagos State Clubs Participating In The NLO Season

Lagos State Sports Commission Director-General, Mr Toyin Gafaar has tasked the Lagos State-based teams participating in Nigeria’s third-tier league, the Nigeria National League One (NLO) to be good ambassadors of the state.

Gafaar, who visited the 18 Lagos State clubs in Ikenne, Ogun State on Monday charged the clubs to uphold sportsmanship behaviours and the fair play rules as they compete for honours in the NLO season.

“We are proud of you all and this is a testimony that Lagos State is the hub of football in the country, we are truly the Centre of Excellence. To have 18 clubs from Lagos participating in the NLO season is huge for the State,” Gafaar said to the teams in Ikenne, Ogun State.

The top official from the Lagos State Sports Commission witnessed three matches on Monday and he was impressed with the performance of the teams.

“The Sports Commission is happy with the level of competition among the teams and the quality in all the teams excites us. You are all winners irrespective of the fact that only one team from this centre will progress to the NLO Super 16 tournament.

“We want you to be good ambassadors of Lagos State and uphold the fair play rules. At the end of the tournament, there will be a lot of positives to savour and the coaches can build on it. We want to commend all the club’s management for their investment, we will continue to support the teams and give them the necessary support,” Gafaar concluded.
