Following his team’s nervy 1-1 draw against 36 Lions at the Ongoing Lagos Super ‘8’ King’s Cup, Isiekwene Christian, Coach of G12 Football Club has lauded his boys’ performance aftermath an intense game in what seems to be a clash of titans.
Christian who was on the touchline as his side featured as the visiting opponent was previously the captain of 36 Lions in a somewhat emotional re-union as both teams share the spoil.
Reacting after the game, Christian was in awe of his team’s overall display, “Today’s game was very intense, I expected all that happened in today’s game to be like that because anytime 36 Lion and G12 plays, it’s like a Lagos Derby so I expected the 1-1 outing, good game from both sides.”
“We have mapped out some of the mistakes my boys did, we will rectify it as soon as possible,” he further stated.
On teams avoiding his side, he said, I don’t know why teams are avoiding to play us, because if you want to see good football or play a good team, they can play against us so I don’t know why they are avoiding us.”
He commended the program organizers as it is a nice scouting event in form of a competition which should have been held last year before the Coronavirus outbreak.
“If you watch all the teams in this tournament, they are the best team in Lagos State so it’s more than a scouting program, it’s like a bragging right, I really complement the facilitators and when people see more of this, it will help our grasscourt develop the more,” he concluded.
