Shakiru Giwa, Coach of Stationery Stores of Lagos who have been in the shadows of their history in recent times has spoken to Sports247 about the ability of the players in the team and their chances of getting back promotion in the league.
“We are a good side. We have a couple of young players mixed with experience. We started a bit late, just a month of preparation going into the league now. We are just trying to put our house together and for us to be a better team, we’re working round the clock to bring out the best in our players and in due time people will see what we have and we’ll make Lagos State proud,” Giwa said.
Stationery Stores kicked start their Nigerian National League campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Giant Brillers FC and they currently sit eight on the NNL Group B1 table, level on point and goal difference with six other clubs.
Asked if he was disappointed with the draw at home, the coach reiterated that the team started late and just want to gel and get their tactics right so as to be able to do better going forward.
