Vandrezzer FC’s new signing, Michael Ipaye has expressed his delight to have joined the Nigeria National League (NNL) side and aims to fight for his spot in the team.
The young winger linked up with the Lions of Niaja on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee before the start of the 2021 NNL campaign.
He explains that it’s a new home for him; “I feel excited. Am happy because it’s a new home for me and a new environment for me as a whole. So I am happy.” Ipaye told Sports247.
The former Joy Cometh FC captain does admit that the transfer is a step up for him and that he will have to work harder and fight for a spot in the team.
“Getting here, it’s for me to work more than when I was with Joy Cometh because now it’s like a new home. I’ve said it earlier. I have to fight for the shirt for me to play.”
Born in Ogun state, Ipaye is an exciting winger known for his speed, directness, and composure on the ball.
His dribbling skills and movement have also been highlighted as key components of his game.
