The 20th National Sports Festival has suffered another postponement and will now place on a later date in April.
It is the fifth time that the competition will be postponed amid the realities of covid 19.
The media aide to the Minister of Sports, Kola Daniel told ait.live that the postponement was as a result of the avalanche of complaints by participating states of the paucity of funds.
The decision to postpone the games again was reached after a meeting of councils of sports with the Sports Minister, Sunday Dare.
Host Edo State also complained of a lack of funds because of the impact of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the Local Organising Committee. LOC, will not be lacking funds when the games eventually take place in April following promises by the federal government to bear some of the financial burdens in hosting the multi-sports event.
