Heartland goalkeeper, Chijioke Ejiogu has declared that he is getting better over the years.
The goalkeeper was handed a starting belt in their 2-1 win over MFM FC on NPFL matchday 9.
Speaking after the game to Sports247, the 36-year-old said he is getting better.
“Yh, they say the older wine, the better. I believe as I age, I am better because experience keeps counting so I will say I’m getting better by the years.”
On the victory of the Agege Soccer Temple which the team’s coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu termed as a revenge mission, the old hands said it was a God earned victory.
“The game was really tight. Thank God it went out the way at the end. God really gave us the victory and I just want to Thank God.”
Heartland have also scored the highest number of goals in the NPFL this season after netting their twelfth goal of the season on Sunday.
