After the disappointing defeat to new Lagos based team, Vandrezzer FC, Team Lagos have gone back to winning ways after defeating Broad City FC 1-0 in a friendly game to aid their preparations for the National Sports Festival.
The director of Broad City, Mr Bamidele, was quick to affirm that their opponents were the better side after calling them an “all-star” team. He also noted that it wasn’t a bad result for his team.
“They’re a very good side, no doubt about it. So I believe every state that will face team Lagos is going to come up against a very strong side,” he said.
Broad City FC is a team made up of many young boys who are itching to play games and get their career to the peak and this can be done through more games for the club. “We are a very young side. There has been on and off the oitvhe due to the lockdown. My boys are really young compared to the Lagos team, who are also young. But my team gave them a very tough game,” the director said.
“This is our first loss in about 10 games and our next opponents are really going to have it very very difficult. We have what it takes, that shows why we were picked and so we gave them a very though game,” he added.
Broad City next face Remo stars in another friendly and the team is trying to get their structure in place as an academy that is growing. The club is still preparing its players who would be travelling to better teams in Europe and Asia.
Broad City are also eyeing a position in the NLO as the next task and look to cement it in the coming days.
