Gbagada FC have suffered their first loss in three games at the ongoing The Creative Championship League going on. The Blue Eagles on the back of two consecutive draws suffered a defeat at the hands of Imperial FC who pick up their first win in the league after eight games.
Imperial FC started the better of the sides and took the lead away from home after ten minutes of play and lead till half time. Gbagada however, rallied back and leveled matters in the 52-minute courtesy of Omolaja who pounced on a ball that fell his was from a corner kick. Imperial had the last say of the game and got the winner in the 87th minute that saw them run away with all 3 points.
Coach of Gbagada FC, Akinyelu Olajide, spoke to Sports 247 after the game and felt his boys did play well. “It’s football you know, you win some, you lose some. It was a good game from our end but that’s football,” he said.
Going forward in preparation for the next game, when asked about his side having to win the next game surely, coach Olajide said “as I said, I’m satisfied with the performance, we just didn’t win. So we’ll just keep pushing from there and the next game we’ll take it from there.”
Gbagada currently sits fifth on the TCC league table with 10 points and 10 goals from 7 games.
