Manchester United just announced revenue of £415million for the 2019/20 season even amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. Imagine what will happen if clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL can be proactive in initiating sales and marketing strategies that will yield an increase in revenue, then they will no longer struggle to pay salaries of their players, officials of the clubs, and other engagements of the clubs.
Here is a simple sales strategy for clubs in the NPFL. In Plateau united of Jos, Chinedu anozie, iSAH Ndala, and Amos gyang are popular among the fans of the club_ there are some of the most intelligent and consistent players in the league this season with others. What stops the management of Plateau United to mass-produce their special jerseys to be sold at a token of N2,000.00 to the fans of the club. If the club is able to reach 50,000 fans and it sells these jerseys to them, the club will rake in N100m now that they are very hot before they jet out to foreign clubs.
Imagine Enyimba mass-produced the jersey Victor Mboma and Reuben Bala of Enyimba or any of their star players at the same amount and sells to their fans all over Nigeria. The club would definitely make more money. What about Akwa United doing the same with their star players.
Jos is the home of Plateau United. The team can boast of three-star players – Charles Henlomg dynamic midfielder, Mike Ziruma _prolific overlapping modern defender, and Chinedu Anozie safe hands in goal, but nothing to show in the merchandise of their jerseys.
Who is a die-hard fan of Plateau United that will not want to buy and wear the club jersey of isah Ndala or either of Anozie( prolific safe hands) and Zaruma _ Imagine if the remaining clubs in NPFL follows the same track of Sales and Marketing strategies, nothing will stop these clubs from increasing their revenue.
Sadly, most of the fans of clubs in NPFL finds it difficult to buy the club jersey of their choice due to the fact that the jerseys are nowhere to be found, how much more the stars players in their clubs. Nigerian clubs can break free from poverty if only they can wake up from their slumber in the multi-billion dollar football market.
Selling players to foreign clubs is not the only avenue clubs can make more money in Nigeria outside government funding.
Some cross-section of fans disclosed that they are desperately in need of these replicas because they will be proud to wear the replicas…What do you think? Whatapp or call 07067763337
