In furtherance of the vision to unearth the numerous football talents in the nooks and crannies of Ekiti state, the Ekiti State Football Association has named a six-member committee for the late Oba Ademola Ajakaiye Under 13 football competition.
The committee is to be headed by a household name in sports journalism in the state, Qozeem Oladapo while a passionate youth coach, Femi Popoola serves as Secretary.
Other members of the Oba Ajakaiye Under 13 Cup are Dayo Folajimi, Fatai Yinusa, and Bukola Orisagbemi while Elder Kester Oyewole is to function as the Adviser.
The committee which would be inaugurated later in the week is expected to do the needful towards ensuring a glamorous and impactful competition among under 13 male footballers from various parts of the state with a view to discovering players that could form the nucleus of the next generation of Ekiti State FA Under 13 team also known as Ekiti Baby Bees.
Recall that the present crop of Ekiti State FA Under 13 who dazzled the nation at the Jos Chilling Football Competition held in Jos, Plateau state in December 2020 would have been close to Under 15 in the next few months, hence the need to scout for new players to replace them.
