Rivers United Returns To Winning Ways, As Plateau United Records The Biggest Win Of NPFL Match Week 5

Rivers United on Sunday returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-1 win over Heartland Fc of Owerri, which further compounded the woes of Fedelis Ilechukwu’s team, as Rivers United are top of the League standings while Heartland FC are down in 18th on the Log with just 1 win from 5 games played so far in the league.

Godwin Aguda (19th-minute penalty), Kazie (64th minute), and Ohawuma (85th minute) all scored for Stanley Eguma’s side, while Oghali (78th minute) scored the only goal for the Nazi Billionaires as the match ended 3-1 in favour of Rivers United.
In Aba, Enyimba defeated Kano Pillars 2-1, with Anayo and Orok getting both goals for the Peoples Elephant in the 21st and 38th minutes respectively, while Usman scored the only goal for the Northern outfits.

Finally, the biggest win of Match Week 5 was in Jos, where Plateau United thrashed Adamawa United 3-0. Gyang (45th-minute penalty), Innocent (89th minute), and Jimoh (91st minute) all scored for Plateau United as they humiliated the Northern outfits.
