Enyimba FC midfielder, Anthony Omaka won the man of the match award for the first time as Enyimba player in the ongoing season of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The workaholic midfield star, who was exceptional in his movement and control of his team’s midfield, won the hearts of over 80% of the journalists and fans present at the match, beating the scorers of the goals in the match, Anayo Iwuala and Orok Gabriel to the award.
The People’s Elephants have now three out of four matches they’ve played in the league this season.
In his post-match reaction, the former Sunshine Stars box-to-box midfielder said: “I’m very happy with the man of the match award, but I must confess, I’m not yet satisfied.
“We’ve only played four (4) games out of five (5) the other clubs already in a league of 38 matches, so it’s still a long way from here.
“I appreciate my teammates, the technical crew, and all who had inputs to ensure victory was achieved against Pillars; we’re indeed bonding as a team and we look forward to more successes,” Omaka said.
Enyimba FC will tomorrow battle Kwara United in Ilorin for their rescheduled week two fixture.
