Rasheedat Ajibade featured as Atletico Madrid Femenino downed Levante 3-0 to clinch the Spanish Supercopa title on Saturday night, Sports247 reports.
The Super Falcons star teamed up with the Spanish side earlier this month after winding down her contract with Norwegian Avaldsnes IL. The trophy is the first of her professional career.
Cameroon international, Ajara Nchout, who also joined Atletico earlier this month, was the star of the show, bagging a brace and an assist in what was her debut for the club.
Deyna Castellanos opened the scoring in the 18th minutes after combining well with Nchout.
Four minutes later, Nchout doubled Atletico’s advantage thanks to a fine assist from Ludmila da Silva.
The duo combined again in the 32nd minute to put Atletico 3-0 up and confirmed them as the Spanish Supercopa champions for the first time, having beaten inaugural winners Barcelona in the semi-final.
Ajibade was brought on in place of Nchout for the final eight minutes of the game. It marked her second appearance for Atletico since arriving in Spain two weeks ago.
The winners’ medal is a career first for the 21-year-old Nigerian forward.
