Frank Onyeka Set To Leave FC Mydtjylland In The Summer Transfer Window

FC Midtjylland’s director Claus Steinlein, has revealed that there is a mutual understanding between the club and its Nigerian midfielder, Frank Onyeka that he would be allowed to leave the club in the summer.

Onyeka who extended his contract with Mydtjylland in 2019 was expected to be sold in the summer of 2020 after a good season in which the club won the Danish league title.

However, those plans were halted when Onyeka help Mydtjylland qualify for the group stages of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

According to Claus Steinlein, 23-year-old would be sold in the summer transfer window for the right price.

“We have made an agreement with him that he will leave in the summer of 2021,” Steinlein told Tipsbladet.

“We have a longer agreement with him but gave him a salary increase recently because he has earned it based on his performance.

“The plan is for him to win the double with FC Midtjylland this spring, and then he will go to Europe, while others will fill in the big shoes he leaves behind in FC Midtjylland.”

Onyeka had 2020 to remember. He made his Champions League debut, reached 100 appearances for Midtjylland, and earned his first senior national cap with Nigeria.
