Surulere based club, Utility Sports FC has rolled out their plans for the upcoming season as they look to participate in the Surulere Regional League with the ultimate aim to gain promotion to League One, Sports247 gathered.
Their previous year’s achievements include a scouting trip to Afonja terrain called Kwara state organized by Kwara football academy in attendance were scouts and agents of Kauna Zalgiris of Lithuania but were knocked out in the semi-final on a penalty shoot-out after playing out a 1-1 draw with KFA team.
A few weeks later they were again in okitipupa ondo states for the FK Liepaja scouting program and had four players in the final list.
Also, they attended the Ijebu Ode scouting program organized by Real Sapphire football club and got to the semi-finals but lost to a very mature side in DRV football club as they went to the tournament with just 11 fit players and played two games within the space of 3hrs but it was good exposure for the lads.
Following these events, the dreaded coronavirus struck but the management keeps engaging the boys at their respective homes and individually for them to keep fit and when football finally resumed, they were taken for a training camp in Mayflower school in Ikenne for 23 days of intensive training camp .
After their return, they were invited to some other numerous scouting programs around in Akure organized Afric/Europe management agency with 5 team players making the final cut.
They also participated in the just-concluded first edition of the Champions Cup that took place at the soccer temple Agege stadium Lagos and lost two consecutive games, won one convincingly by 3-0.
The Team shall be resuming by 4th January in readiness for a 2weeks pre-season training camp in Shagamu Ogun State.
