Smart City Football Club of Lagos, rounded up the year with 5-0 thrashing of Legacy FC, on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
The game which was the final friendly game for the city in 2020, will remain in the memories for a long time, as the players, didn’t show any mercy for their opponents, as they descended mercilessly on them with a 5-0 thrashing to end the year in a befitting and glorious way.
The game which didn’t produce any goal in the first half, saw the City making some tactical changes in the second half, which paid off, as a graciously gifted striker, Alabi Akpatakpiti getting a brace, while, Sunkanmi, Ade and Ladan, got a goal each to Compound the woes of their opponents.
City players toiled with their opponents and would have scored more goals, but legacy FC were lucky to go home with just five goals.
Speaking after the game, the coach of Smart City said, he is very excited with not only the result but also with the way the players carried out their duties.
“I am totally happy with the result and also with the way the players played to instructions, I give kudos to the boys for making us proud and everyone should watch out for smart city in 2021, by the grace of God, we will win more trophies and more success achieved too,” he said.
The game against Legacy FC was the last game of the year for the current Lagos fa cup champions, the team will resume for the 2021 season in early January.
