Okpotu Eyes Return On Sunday

Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi of Morocco striker, Anthony Okpotu is setting his eyes on making a bold return from injury this Sunday, as he finally seeks his long-awaited home debut with the North African outfit.

The 24-year-old former Lobi Stars of Makurdi striker, who was Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) top scorer in 2017 and key member of the home-based Eagles to CHAN 2018 in Morocco, said he is fully set for his domestic league debut.

Okpotu enthused that he now hopes to hit the ground running with El-Jadida, after being sidelined for four months and was reduced to just two appearances in the CAF Champions League.

The all-action attacker, who previously had spells at Al-Ittihad Tripoli and was on trial in April at Brøndby of Denmark, said he is eager to play for El Jadidi in the Moroccan league, after joining them in July.

He retorted: “It’s been a tough phase for me but I’m happy that I can finally return to play for the team.

“We have a game against Mouloudia Oujda. Hopefully, I will be able to play and show the fans what they have been missing.

“I’m back to full fitness. I have been training well and should be in action next Sunday.”
