Former national team star, Emmanuel Okocha has charged Nigeria’s clubs on continental assignments to work harder, in order to get better results for the country.
Okocha stated in a chat with sports247.ng on Tuesday that, as Nigerian representatives in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup begin action this week, they must redouble their efforts more than ever.
Lobi Stars will face USM de Loum of Cameroon in the elite clubs’ money-spinning league, while Rangers of Enugu face Defence of Ethiopia, ahead of which Okocha says only proper planning can give them good results.
Okocha further stated that, though he would want a Nigerian team to win any of the tournaments as soon as possible, they have to work for it.
He pointed out: “We are always staying that clubs from Morocco, Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia keep winning these continental club competitions.
“What we should note is that North African teams work hard to achieve the glory they got many years ago and still experiencing right now.”
